However, lurking in the shadows are a few new faces who, not unlike LarryBoy, also possess a bit of pride in their hearts: the Vicious Vigilantes, who would occasionally go around secretly delivering their own brand of justice before the Cucumber of Steel came along. And because of this, he constantly turns down their offer time after time. But due to his growing pride, he would much rather work alone. His successes have even led to a small team of superheroes keeping a close eye on him, hoping to recruit him for his talents. LarryBoy is seen as a hero for defeating the Bad Apple and has become something of a symbol for Bumblyburg. Upon discovering her true intentions, LarryBoy and the police work together to take her down. The conspiracy involves Bumblyburg being controlled from within by the Bad Apple, who has been planning an act of revenge for an ancestor of hers, Ephraim Apply, getting banished from the town years ago by its founder Obadiah Bumbly. But when a few of his detectives find themselves working with LarryBoy purely by chance, they uncover a major conspiracy that might be too big for the police to handle on their own. Captain Scooter Carrot in particular has been especially hesitant to trust him. Meanwhile, the police question LarryBoyвЂ™s methods and are split as to whether or not heвЂ™s good for the city. Alfred aids him by building devices for his missions and putting him into contact with skilled martial artist Bok Choy. He struggles to win the support of Bumblyburg while also running a company.
